Southern Minnesota Manufacturers need skilled workers. Fairmont Area Schools are COMMITTED to provide a quality learning experience for students and adults as they prepare for a skilled job in welding. We will host a 60 hour welding course to teach essential welding skills.
One high school credit will be earned for students in grades 9-12. The class will be capped at 20 welding students due to safety protocols. Preference will be given to current high school students first. There is an enrollment fee of $400 for all adults and students from districts outside of Fairmont Area Schools. A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end if the student passes the welding tests.
You will develop skills in: Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG) joint work in Flat - Horizontal - Vertical position and overhead.
Additionally, students will gain practical experience in: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/STICK) - Tape measure reading and fraction work to strengthen essential job skills.
Join us to build a strong foundation in welding and job-related math skills that are valuable in the workforce.
Contact Instructor: Bob Bonin Jr at bbonin@fairmont.k12.mn.us if you have any questions about the course. ALL students regardless of your school, need to register at the same email.
